DESCRIPTION:

As a Project Accountant at WDF Inc., reporting tothe Chief Financial Officer you will have the opportunity to:

  • Make practical applications found in accounting standards and procedures for routine transactions.

  • Assume responsibility for the day-to-day operation of one or more accounting applications, such as accounts payable, general accounting, or of a subordinate section.

  • Prepare, process, and place in line for payment vendor & subcontractor invoices; prepare client invoices; prepare back charges, bank reconciliations, and petty cash reconciliations.

  • Resolve discrepancies on invoices or reports by interfacing with other departments, project controllers, construction and operations, and vendors and subcontractors.

  • Make recommendations to supervisor for cost effective methods of accomplishing specific functions.

  • Assist with internal and external audits.

  • Prepare special reports and complete other accounting projects per supervisor’s direction.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors degree in Business/Accounting /Finance or related from an accredited institution andfive (5)or more years construction accounting experience

  • Experience working on projects valued at 150 million or more in the greater NYC area

  • Knowledge of general construction accounting, auditing, payroll, and invoicing

  • Requires the ability to maintain data integrity and accuracy and use data to identify and solve problems.

  • Requires ability to plan, organize, and prioritize multiple tasks within a defined time period.

  • Requires strong conceptual and analytical skills.

  • Excellent knowledge of Word and Excel

  • Excellent written and verbal skills

Expected salary range for this position is $85,000 - $120000 depending on experience.
